How to have a boiler installed.

The best way to install a boiler is to employ a professional engineer.

With lots of installation options to choose from, and differences in price, you might feel like you need a little guidance to help you make the choice that’s best for your home.

Can I install a boiler myself?

It’s important to understand that you shouldn’t install a boiler yourself. For good reason, every boiler installation must, by law, be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer who has gone through professional training.

Anyone who tries to install a boiler without the relevant qualifications may be putting their home and family at serious risk.

Even if you think you’re quite handy with tools and you’re an experienced DIYer, this is a job that should be left to the professionals, such as the qualified engineers available up and down the country through Help-Link.

How much does a boiler installation cost?

There’s no fixed rate for a boiler installation. All kinds of factors could play into the cost, including where you live and even whether you’re having a traditional or combi boiler installed, if it will run on gas or electricity, and potentially what brand it is.

The cost of the boiler installation usually includes everything you need: the boiler itself, removal of the old one, and any charges for flushing the old system, doing plumbing work and moving pipes. Be sure to check what is included as part of your installation.

The best way to find out how much a boiler installation costs with Help-Link is to have a quick chat with one of our advisors.

If you don’t think you can cover the cost upfront, we offer a range of finance packages that can help, or you might qualify for a boiler grant.

How can I arrange a boiler installation?

If you choose to book an independent engineer, you should contact the Gas Safe Register, either over the phone, or by visiting the Gas Safe website to check whether they are accredited and qualified to work on boilers. All of Help-Link’s engineers are registered with Gas Safe, and work nationally.

To arrange a boiler installation with Help-Link, call 0203 763 2682 , or leave a few details on the form at the bottom of the page.

As a first step, we’ll have a surveyor come to your home at a time that suits you. They’ll discuss your requirements before recommending the best boiler option for your lifestyle, having taken into account the size of your home and a number of factors such as how many people will use the boiler at any one time.

If you want to go ahead, we’ll arrange a date with you for the installation. Your engineer will arrive at your home with all of the equipment needed, confirm the work that will need doing and how long it will all take.

Before long you should have a brand new boiler installed.

That’s all there is to it! We aim to make boiler installation as stress-free as possible, and our payment plans could help to ease concerns about cost. You could also look at adding a care plan for your boiler and central heating system, helping you to feel secure that, should anything go wrong, you’re in safe hands and the costs are covered.
