New Boiler
A new boiler could SAVE you up to 30% OFF your heating bills.
There are 3 different types of boilers in different sizes to suit different houses. Prices can vary by hundreds of pounds depending on the size you need but our Gas Safe registered installers will always give you the best impartial advice around so you can purchase the appliance best suited to your needs.
Conventional Boiler
This heats up the water for your central heating system. The pump circulates water through the pipes and radiators. Cooled water then returns to the boiler where it's reheated.
Combination Boiler
This saves space as it does the work of both a central heating boiler and a hot water cylinder. It also saves money as it produces hot water on demand, rather than storing it. On the downside, heating water on demand can be slow, so it can take a while to fill a bath, particularly if you're running water elsewhere in the house. And it's not usually suitable for use with power showers.
Condensing Boiler
Both conventional Boilers and combination boilers are available as condensing boilers. These are more energy efficient, as they capture the heat that's normally lost from the flue. The Energy Saving Trust estimates you can cut fuel bills by 32 per cent by replacing a 15-year-old boiler with a new condensing type. Installing a condensing boiler can cost £250 to £300 more than a conventional one. But you should be able to recoup this eventually on reduced fuel bills. You can also receive a grant to help you pay for one. Condensing boilers give off a large plume of water vapour but, if the boiler and flue are sited correctly, this shouldn't be a problem. Regular maintenance of this type of boiler is particularly important as sludge can build up and cause problems.
